Salon: GOP Must Dump Jesus or Risk Irrelevance in ‘Post-Christian America’

Ted Cruz’s failure to get the GOP nomination, Matthew Sheffield proclaims in Salon, “is a perfect window into trends that will set the pace of American politics for decades to come: Americans are moving away from Christianity, including people most likely to vote Republican.” –Source

So, according to Salon Magazine, the United States is no longer a Christian nation simply because Ted Cruz, a man claiming to be a born again Christian, (like GW Bush who pulled off the false flag attack on 911) wasn’t able to gain the Republican nomination to run for President? Hillary Clinton Woos Catholic and Evangelical Leaders With Global Development

Hillary Clinton campaign representatives and supporters have held two private meetings with top Catholic and evangelical leaders in Washington to discuss the global development policies of a potential Clinton administration.

Several of Clinton’s former State Department advisors organized the meetings via their foreign policy volunteer group, “Idealists for Hillary,” which is working to activate supporters in global development networks. Cindy Huang, a former advisor for State’s Global Hunger and Food Security Initiative, helped to convene the closed-door sessions, each for about a dozen religious leaders. Continue reading →

Hillary Clinton’s running mate is a Jesuit trained Catholic

(RNS) Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton announced Tim Kaine, the junior Democratic senator from Virginia and former governor of that state, as her vice presidential running mate Friday (July 22).

Kaine, a Roman Catholic, will appear with Clinton, a Methodist, at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Megachurch Pastor Points to Who Jesus Would Pick for President

A megachurch pastor has two points he wants you to consider when you go into the voting booth in November to cast a ballot for who you believe should be the next president of the United States.

It’s what he believes Jesus would do.

Dave Ferguson, lead pastor of Community Christian Church in Naperville, Illinois, said if Jesus were an American, He would “choose with love” when deciding whom to support in the 2016 presidential election. What to Expect When Trump Meets 900 Evangelical Leaders Tuesday

Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s closed-door meeting Tuesday with 900 top evangelical and social conservative leaders will be a time of questions and answers on issues such as the Supreme Court, sanctity of life and religious freedom, according to an organizer, who said a similar meeting is being discussed also with Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton.

“Of the more than 50,000 questions that came in, many of them focused on those three issues. Others focused on issues related to leadership, national security, and faith,” Johnnie Moore, the spokesperson for My Faith Votes, a non-partisan organization focused on engaging the 25 million Christians who did not vote in 2012 and one of the two groups behind the meeting, told The Christian Post.  Continue reading…

Televangelist: God Is Using Donald Trump to Prepare America for Christ’s Return

Strang said Amedia told him about the experience months ago, and urged his long-time friend to come on his podcast to discuss it. Pope Francis Insists that “Greater Politics” is the Realm of the Church, June 3, 2016

On June 3, 2016 Pope Francis addressed the judges and magistrates of the Vatican, insisting that the Church has a duty to intervene in political issues that cause “open wounds and dramatic suffering.” Citing the current model of the criminal justice system, he decried the prevalence of corruption and strictly penal punishments.

Pope Francis insisted that for true justice, punishment is not enough. Rather, both victims and offenders must be re-educated to give them hope for a successful re-integration into society. “No penalty that doesn’t give hope is valid. If it doesn’t give hope, it’s torture.”

“Forcefully reiterating” the Church’s stance against the death penalty, Pope Francis implores all to “let it be God who chooses when the time has come.”  Source
