A pastoral letter from the Roman Catholic Church bishops has urged all Zimbabweans, especially young people, to register and vote in their numbers in the upcoming 2018 polls, seen as a watershed election.
Reading a letter on behalf of the bishops to congregants after a church service at St. James Catholic church in Emerald Hill, Harare on Aug. 20, Father Rungano Muchineripi said it is a sin not to vote.
“Men and women of God are getting tired of praying for issues to do with politics and the suffering of people due to bad governance, so it is high time Christians put their efforts together in registering to vote, choosing a people oriented government which is not evil, AllAfrica.com reported. Pope Francis met on Thursday with a delegation from a Nigerian diocese which for the last four and a half years has refused to recognize the bishop who was appointed as its shepherd.
He demanded that the clerics of the Diocese of Ahiara accept the bishop appointment that has been made, or face suspension and loss of office.
Fr. Peter Okpaleke was appointed Bishop of Ahiara in December 2012 by Benedict XVI. But the Ahiara diocese is dominated by the Mbaise ethnic group. As an outsider from the nearby Diocese of Awka, Fr. Okpaleke was rejected by much of Ahiara’s clergy and laity, who wanted one of their own to be appointed bishop over them. Continue reading
“Marie Collins, an Irish survivor of clerical sex abuse, resigned Wednesday from Pope Francis’s child protection panel, accusing senior Vatican officials of “shameful” blocking of reforms approved by the pontiff. Collins’s departure and her depiction of high-level obstruction of change is an embarrassing blow to the pontiff’s attempts to demonstrate that the Church is effectively combating a scourge that has profoundly damaged its image over recent decades. The 70-year-old, who was raped by a hospital chaplain at 13, explained her decision in an article for the National Catholic Reporter (NCR). As a survivor I have watched events unfold with dismay,” she wrote. Her resignation happened days after Francis came under fire for reducing sanctions imposed on some paedophile priests in line with his desire for the Church to be more merciful across a range of issues.” –Source

Never seems to end does it? And what’s truly shocking is, even though this woman, a devout Roman Catholic, sees how her Vatican priests are blocking every attempt by her to do as she was hired to do, and that was to find a way to protect the children from the child molesters in her church leadership, she not only walks off the job proving the Vatican has no real interest in stopping their flesh crazed pedophile recreational past time, she has no intention of leaving her beloved church. Now keep in mind, she wasn’t only hired to help the Vatican figure out a way to help protect the children from the child rapists in the priesthood, she herself was a victim of sexual abuse by this very same priesthood. And all this comes to light just four days after the Pope himself quietly trims sanctions for sex abusers in his priesthood that are seeking mercy for the crimes they commit against the children?! (Not surprised since the last 2 Popes did the same thing!) Continue reading
One of the most well-known Jesuit priests in the United States tweeted his support of boys using the girls’ bathroom and vice versa.
Father James Martin is the editor-at-large of America magazine and has a large social media presence. In November, he accepted an award from New Ways Ministry, a dissident group that has been condemned by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and the U.S. Catholic bishops. During his lengthy acceptance speech, he said the Church should embrace homosexuality’s “special gifts.” Continue reading
Seven percent of Catholic priests in Australia between 1950 and 2010 allegedly sexually abused children, according to data provided by church authorities in a major investigation.
Australia is the latest country to unearth widespread, decades-long child abuse by Catholic Church authorities.
The findings were released by The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, which launched in 2013 to look at child abuse in places like schools and government organizations.
It started surveying church authorities shortly afterward, in response to the high number of survivors who told the commission they were abused at a Catholic Church institution. Continue reading
“Pope Francis told participants at a Vatican gathering on religious life that the exodus of clergy and religious men and women is weakening the Church and must be addressed. “We are dealing with a ‘hemorrhage’ that is debilitating to consecrated life and the very life of the Church,” the Pope said, noting that the number of desertions from the consecrated life is “worrisome.” –Source
And how do you think Satan and the man of sin will fix this problem? Looking back just 10 decades it’s easy to see what will happen next. Exactly 100 years ago a demon calling itself “the virgin Mary” appeared in a grotto in Portugal to 3 young children. Why children? Satan knows if he appeared as a woman claiming to be Mary the mother of Jesus to adults they may look into his claims by actually opening a Bible to see it’s all a lie. Basic reality is, how many patriarchs and prophets in the Word of God ever had vision as children that was to be proclaimed to all the world? God would never send a little child to do such a work without sufficient training. Even Samuel sat under the tutorage of Ely long before going forth as a prophet of the Lord. Continue reading
MANILA — The Catholic Church is “full of sh**t,” according to President Duterte who ramped up his attacks against priests and bishops in the Philippines, on Tuesday, by accusing them of corruption, womanizing and other excesses.
In a speech peppered with profanities in reference to the church leaders, Mr. Duterte encouraged his audience composed of families of slain Special Action Forces to read the book “Altar of Secrets” by the late journalist Aries Rufo to know the sins of the church officials. Continue reading
A parish priest in the south of Italy enraged parishioners by dressing the Virgin Mary in a Muslim burqa for his church’s Christmas Nativity scene, adding a boatful of refugees and a rainbow flag in place of the star of Bethlehem.
The pastor of the parish of Saints Joachim and Anne in Potenza, Father Franco Corbo, found himself face to face with an angry mob of demonstrators gathered outside his church on Wednesday to protest his provocative display.
“Don Franco,” as the priest is known, said that he had the special crèche scene constructed “in the name of dialogue among religions” and that his message had been “misinterpreted.” Continue reading

VATICAN CITY — The Roman Catholic Church will allow priests throughout the world to grant absolution for abortion, the Vatican said on Monday, making permanent a policy that Pope Francis announced a year ago.
In a document marking the conclusion of the church’s yearlong Jubilee of Mercy, the pope extended a policy of allowing priests — and not only bishops or special confessors — to grant forgiveness for abortion, which the church considers a sin. The announcement was a signal of the pope’s vision of a more welcoming, merciful and inclusive church.
While firmly restating his opposition to abortion as “a grave sin, since it puts an end to an innocent life,” the pope affirmed that “there is no sin that God’s mercy cannot reach and wipe away when it finds a repentant heart seeking to be reconciled with the Father.” The document, an apostolic letter, was signed on Sunday after a Mass denoting the end of the jubilee year. It was made public on Monday. Continue reading
